The project is one of the visions of Eparchial Assembly conducted in 2015. The purpose of the project is to assist financially backward families with the financial contributions from benefactors within the diocese. The inspiration of this project is the charisma and model of apostolic churchsharing of the resources among the members according to the need. The beneficiaries of each phase are selected for three years and the next phase starts with new beneficiaries The project has two schemes - Monthly Financial Assistance for Poor Families and Scholarship for Professional Higher Education.
The first proposal in this project is RESHMAVILLA. The land for this project is donated by Prof. Tomy Oduvelil in memory of his late daughter Reshma Tomy Oduvelil
Monthly Financial Assistance for Poor Families
Monthly Financial Assistance for Poor Families was the first scheme of the project. 525 families were provided with 1000 rupees per month for 3 years. A sum total of 1,89,00,000/- was contributed and distributed.
Scholarship for Professional Higher Education
The second scheme was providing Scholarship for Professional Higher Education for the students from the beneficiary families of the first scheme. 31 students were given the total fees for the course.
Community Empowerment Programme
CEP aims at strengthening the community by assisting the individuals for attaining government schemes and minority privileges. For this purpose a team of five members were formulated in each parish. CEP members coordinates and follow-ups all the activities and schemes of the society in the parishes. This operates as the federation of SHGs. This is the networking system of the society. CEP central committee consists of 15 elected members from regional committee, 5 nominated members and 5 ex-officio members. Regional committee includes representatives from each parish of corresponding regions. Forane committee consists of all CEP members of each parish of the Forane. Collection and distributions of services and commodities produced by the SHGs are managed through this networking system.
Sajeevam - Anti Drug Campaign Kerala
The project aims at prevention of menace of drugs. The project is implemented in collaboration with Caritas India. Conducting awareness programs, providing counselling facilities, training for healthy lifestyle etc are the interventions supposed to fulfil for the mission. Students are the primary target group of this project. These interventions are made by efficient and professionally equipped resource team. Training and formulation of the resource team was the first step of the project. The team reaches the target group -students- through the schools and the parishes.
Asakiranam: Cancer Care Program
The project was commenced in 2014 in collaboration with Caritas India for the welfare of cancer patients and their family. Providing financial assistance to patients, conducting awareness classes, medical camps and cancer prevention activities among students, etc., Coin box collection, donations, sponsorships etc., are the methods of fund mobilization. 5425 individuals are given the benefits of this project. 3,71,53,553 rupees were distributed among these beneficiaries.
Jeeva NoteBooks
The motive of this project is the empowerment of women, especially financially and physically challenged women. The motive is realized by creating opportunities for stable source of income and better standard of living. Along with this purpose high quality notebooks are made available at lower price to the students. The firm is situated at Neriamangalam, an economically backward place neighbouring tribal settlement area. 8 women are working here.
Jeeva Nursery
The agricultural nursery provides the farmers and individuals with plants and trees at remarkably discounted rate. High quality seedlings of coconut, areecanut,different kinds offruit trees, plants from government approved nurseries are distributed. Jeeva nursery is near KSSS office, Kothamangalam. It encourages individuals self employed in budding, grafting, etc.
Jeeva Swasrayam
Purpose of Jeeva Swasrayam is to encourage self-employment initiatives of the individuals and Self Help Groups. Different types of self employment possibilities such as making of soap, soap powder, lotions, candle, mushroom cultivation, lotus cultivation, etc are introduced to the individuals and trains them for the same.
Mar Mathew Pothanamuzhy Housing Project
The project is supposed to be commenced in 2023. The purpose of the project is to provide houses to the needy as per the criteria set by the diocese every year. The fund is to be raised by contribution from the institutions, parishes and individuals.
Mar Mathew's Books and Gifts Centre
Devotional and pious articles are sold at an affordable price. All kinds of items needed for special occasions such as Holy Communion, House Blessing, Marriage-Baptism ceremonies, anniversaries, Easter, Christmas, etc. The centre is in Nirmala shopping complex, Muvattupuzha, opposite to Jeeva Medical Laboratory and Jeeva Medicals.
