Save a family plan is an international non-governmental voluntary organization that aims at reduction of poverty in India through sustainable development and the overall strengthening of families and communities. SAFP primarily focuses on poorest of the poor families. The program is operated by assisting and guiding the family to start sustainable income generating activities, in constructing safe housing and sanitation facilities, education of children and in other basic human needs.
Jeeva Medical Laboratory
Jeeva Medical Laboratory is an initiative that aims at providing high quality and accurate blood tests at low and reasonable expense. It facilitates and contributes to other related activities of the society. The lab is situated in Muvattupuzha.
Jeeva Medical Equipment Bank in memory of Fr George Maleparambil
The scheme was started in November 2022 in memory of late Fr. George Maleparambil. The family members and friends of Fr George Maleparambil are the primary benefactors of this scheme in its first phase. Expensive medical equipments are given to the needy free of cost. The beneficiary returns the equipment after the use and then the equipment is given to another beneficiary. Double function coat, oxygen concentrator, wheel chair, foldable walker, commode chair, airbed, etc., are made available in this scheme.
Snehasparsham - Leprosy Eradication Program
Aware, detect, prevent and eradicate leprosy are the goals of the project. Organizing awareness and prevention programs, conduct medical camps, provide further assistance to the patients and professionals in treatment and rehabilitation of the affected are the interventions intended for Snehasparsham.
Samaritan - Covid Funeral Service & Disaster Management
The Samaritan group was created for the purpose of timely intervention in the emergencies occurred during the pandemic covid-19. Samaritans consisting of 22 priests and 61 laymen operate in 3 regions- Kothamangalam, Muvattupuzha and Thodupuzha. Food kit, medical kit, safety kits etc., have been distributed in different areas of the Diocese and facilities have been provided for Covid vaccination, registration and counseling. Vigorous and dedicated service of young volunteers is very much appreciable. Samaritan groups are operational as a rapid response team in parish and regional level.
Medical camps
Medical camps and awareness programs are conducted in parishes. Dental camps are conducted in collaboration with Mar Baselius Dental College, Kothamangalam.
